Hey friend
Can we just have a real moment together?
I've been walking through a season lately that feels… heavy. Not because I don't believe God is good — I do. My faith is still there, holding me up. But even with that, I've found myself daydreaming about just getting away. Like, really far away. Not forever — just long enough to not be needed, not be responsible, not be "on" all the time.
Have you ever felt that?
I'm not someone who throws pity parties. I usually push through. I fight in prayer. I keep my head up and quote the right scriptures. But lately… it's felt like even that is a little too much.
And I didn't know how to admit it at first. Because what does it mean when someone strong in faith feels like they're sinking?
It means… you're human.
Let me say that again for the girl at the back of the room who's been shouldering everything: Feeling overwhelmed doesn't mean your faith is broken. It means you're human.
David — yes, that David, the giant-slaying, psalm-writing, God-praising one — he said this:
"From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I."Psalm 61:2
His heart grew faint too. He didn't shame himself for it. He didn't pretend to be fine. He called out. He ran to the Rock that was higher than him. And even Jesus — our perfect Saviour — felt that heaviness too. In the garden, right before going to the cross, He told His disciples:
"My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death."Matthew 26:38
He didn't hide it. He brought it straight to the Father. That tells me something: Being honest about your weariness isn't weakness. It's worship. It's trust. It's surrender.
So maybe instead of running away for real, we run straight to Him — to the only One who can hold us when we don't feel like we can hold it all together anymore.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."Matthew 11:28
Not, "Figure it out." Not, "Be stronger." Just, Come.
So if today you feel like disappearing, like hiding, like escaping the pressure — I get it. I really do. But don't do it alone. Don't run away from God — run to Him. Cry out like David did. Be honest like Jesus was. Let your tears be the offering. Because this isn't the end of your story. Feeling defeated doesn't mean you are defeated.
"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."1 Corinthians 15:57
The enemy wants you to believe that your tiredness means failure. That your desire to run means you've given up. But friend, even on trembling knees, you can still stand.
"…and after you have done everything, to stand."Ephesians 6:13
Stand even if it's with a whisper.
Stand even if your prayers feel quiet.
Stand because Jesus is standing with you.
And if today feels too heavy to stand, it's okay to sit and cry — just don't sit alone. Sit with Jesus. Let Him hold you. Let Him remind you:
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."Psalm 34:18
You are not alone. You never were. And you won't drown — not with Him lifting you up.
Jesus…
I'm tired. I feel overwhelmed. I know You're here, but some days it feels like I'm barely holding it all together. Today, I choose honesty. I bring You my weariness, my frustration, my hidden tears. I don't want to pretend. I just want to rest in You.
Be my Rock when I'm weak. Be my peace when my thoughts are loud. You said I could come to You, just as I am — so here I am. I lay it all down and trust You to carry what I can't.
Thank You that I don't have to prove anything to be held by You. I receive Your rest. I receive Your love. I receive Your grace. You are near, and I am safe.
In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
You've got this, friend — not because you're strong all the time, but because He is. And when your knees give way, remember — He's still holding you.
From my heart to yours,
Carla
